I'm new at this so please bare with me. I'm a wife, mother, and grandmother. I have always loved to tell stories, mostly about my family. I tried my hand at a few poems and short stories in local magazines, but sadly I had no luck. So a few days ago I thought let me see if I can find my place somewhere to jot down a few words, and share them with others maybe just like me. Finally I found a place to belong.
My passion is ...
My family
I know too much about ...
everything and nothing at all. I really rely on common sense.
My parents always told me ...
a liar is worse then a thief
My childhood ambition ...
To grow up, and have a family of my own.
My favorite memory ...
Camping with my family as a young child
Why I write ...
Its my theropy
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
I love to listen to "the oldies" and country music. Right now I'm on a Dean Martin kick.
My first job ...
cashier, and I hated it!
My best moment ...
Becoming a wife, mother, and grandmother.
My inspiration ...
Sadly, the death of my mother. I found that putting my feelings into word really helped me cope. I also could say my Aunt Pat, because she's always saying we should write a book about our family.
It was on a cold winters night that my father left us. In the snap of a finger, in the blink of an eye, gone. I wish I could say he walked out on us, but no such luck. He was gone and he was gone for good. At forty two years old a massive heart attack took him from this world, and from us. I remember that day as if it was yesterday: January 20, 1978. It wasn't any different then any other day, except for the snow. We had gotten a lot of snow that year. I can still smell the coffee brewing that morning, just as it did every morning. Everyone scampering around getting ready for the day....
