My name is John C Smith, growing up with that name was not easy. It did however give me thick skin. I am 34 years old and married to a wonderful woman (Christina) for eleven years now, we have three children Brittney 9, Brendan 7, Alyssa 3.

I have always wanted to write I have been writing short stories most of my life and even once won a school competition. I would love to one day become a published writer not just on line but have a best seller one day. I enjoy debating just about anything, for whatever there is out there you can be sure there are two differing opinions.

My childhood ambition ...

When I was a kid I wanted to be a paratrooper I wanted to jump out of airplanes behind enemy lines, instead I got married and had children. Now I am always behind enemy lines.

My favorite memory ...

The birth of my son, not that the births of my two daughters was not great but with my son we decided not to find out what we were having until he was born. Nothing will ever replace the look on my wife's face when I said it's a boy!

Why I write ...

Of course I would love to be successful and make money, but I guess I write a lot cause I love it. Putting words on paper making things and people come alive with just words. As we age our memories fade but by writing we can make our memories last forever.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

Right now I am reading a lot of the works that I find on line. There are so many blog sites and blogger's there is never a shortage of interesting articles on line.

My first job ...

I sold time share vacations in the Catskills, I hated that job talking on the phone all cay everyday, My distain for the phone still lingers with me today. I hate talking on the phone!

My best moment ...

Being there for my children's birth, and winning the state championship in pool.

My inspiration ...

The nice sweet thing to say here would be my wife and kids but the truth is it has always been my father. He always had dreams and aspirations but never got to live them out. He raised me to be a better man then he, so I must try and do whatever it is I can to fulfill my dreams.

It is hard for us here in the North East to see the real impact of the recession on amusement parks yet. The season for such things has not arrived yet, at least not in the North East . However the theme parks near our home town like Six Flags and The Great Escape have already started their advertising blitz, and based on the early advertisements they are showing deep discounts on ticket prices and parking. I do not remember the last time they started to advertise this early, just today we had another winter storm warning and woke up to snow showers. As a Family that goes to these amusemen...
