About me

Funnily I love writing articles I hate writing about me. I am 26 years old and have done everything I ever wanted to in life. Unfortunately that leaves me with the problem of what to do for the next 50 to 70 years. So I came here thinking I could share some of the fun things I have had a chance to do. Now every time I say I have done everything at my age people laugh and think I have little imagination so I will elaborate on the subject.

I was born and drifted along until I was 5 at which point I was enrolled in Purdue University's gifted and talented program. Very boring when you are 5. At 5 years old you want to play not take classes in creative writing trust me. By the time I was 15 I had graduated from highschool and taken college courses in herbal medicine and copyediting and proofreading. At 16 I began managing a greenhouse. At 17 my family moved to Texas and I started working in a restaraunt where my love of cooking grew. At 18 after the towers fell I join the U.S Navy and went to war.

When I came back to the states I buried several friends and a lover. I went to lab school and was 3 months from graduation when I was in a car accident. Part of my brain was damaged. Overnight I went from an above genius level IQ to just above average. It doesn't seem like much to many people but it is a huge handicap to me. The left side of my brain is partially dead.

It took awhile for doctors to realise the extent of the damage and during that time I drove an 18 wheeler cross country. While doing that I met a man who loved me even while my health was failing. Over the next 3 years my health worsened. I started having seizures and the nerves in my lower legs stopped working properly.

My health went down hill from there. I spend most of my time with my service dog Siggi. On good days I can walk down the stairs with a cane on bad days I get carried down by my loving husband and use a wheelchair. I still maange to do the cooking and cleaning but I refuse to do the laundry or take out the trash. Because I have difficulty going out I spend most of my time chatting on the internet with friends I have made through the Navy, truckdriving and through the internet.

I love to garden and do interior design and most articles I write will probably be in that area. I grew up in a family whose motto is "Why pay someone else to do what I can do?" We never hired a contractor so from a young age all of us children got a chance to learn home repair and home decorating.

I also love cooking and have spent the last year perfecting a lasagna with half the fat and all the flavor of a regular lasagna. I have won awards for my chili which is ironic since I am allergic and have never even tasted my chili.

I have little interest in politics or religion. I feel those are personal choices and won't debate them. I don't know everything but I have an opinion on everything and if you get me started I will probably share it. I blame my brain injury for mmy lack of tact. (I should get some benefit from it) I have a dark sense of humor that tends to leave those around me snorting their drinks.

I think that should tell you enough about me. If it didn't ask and I will be delighted to tell you anything you want to know. My personal moto is "If you are too embarassed to talk about it you shouldn't be doing it."

Home & Garden > Home Interior Decorating tips: Adding Asian design elements to your home

Many people love to add a touch of the exotic in their homes; and there is nothing more exotic then Asian design. Asian design has a tranquil balanced feel. It brings to mind visions of sandalwood and incense, dragons and samurai warriors, Aladdin and ninjas. It is a design embodying ancient traditions and fantasy at the same time.
