I am, first and foremost, a servant of my Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord saved me several years ago, and in response, I have devoted my life to Him. My greatest desire is to do His will and to be pleasing to Him. Thus, my greatest hope for my writing is that it would draw honor and glory to the Lord Jesus, and that, by God's grace, others will be able to see Jesus in me.
I am also a faithful father, husband and pastor. I have been married to Lyndi for nearly 21 years and the Lord has blessed us with 6 children of our own. Lyndi and I are expecting our first grandchild in May, and the both of us are looking forward to this blessed event with great joy.
I am an ordained Southern Baptist pastor who is not currently serving a church full-time. I have served three churches in the past; and, currently, I am filling the pulpits in several different locations. I am a Seminary graduate, having received my Master of Divinity degree in April of 2008. At the present time I am a trucker and run locally hauling sugar beets within the Red River Valley of North Dakota/Minnesota.
My passion is ...
To honor and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ.
I know too much about ...
pain, heartache, failure, and hurt inflicted by others upon myself. This has, however, helped me to more fully understand a bit of the suffering of Christ.
My parents always told me ...
to live my life in such a way that God would be pleased.
My childhood ambition ...
was certainly not to be a pastor. However, I became a pastor in spite of my better intentions.
My favorite memory ...
is chasing my wife in Turtle River State Park just outside of Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Why I write ...
to redirect people's attention to the Lord Jesus and to His Word, the Bible.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
I am currently reading "Spiritual Depression" by Dr. D. Martyn Lloyd Jones. I am currently watching three DVD college-level courses: one on Church History and Theology, one on the correlations between Philosophy and Christian Theology, and the third on Argumentation and Logic.
My first job ...
McDonalds.
My best moment ...
is when I finally convinced Lyndi to marry me.
My inspiration ...
Well Done Thou Good and Faithful Servant.
It seems to me that Americans have already paid restitution to the slaves. This price was paid in blood; and it was shed during and after the Civil War. This is not to say that all of the injustices stopped at that point, for they did not. However, that was the starting point in the abolition of slavery and the restoration of the man of color to a place of equal position. This process is not over; but I would have to argue that the price has been paid. We have shed our own human blood to atone for our own human guilt. And the price was quite high: it cost us at least 618,000 lives (see htt...
