Excerpts From: "The Snake Heart" Dragonflies swarmed around the eerie flames, their iridescent wings catching the light and shimmering like many fluttering stars. They seemed unaffected by the mystic fire, for they neither died nor wavered away from the dazzling heat it emitted. A man stood watching the blaze, he had tak... More..

Excerpt From: "The Snake Heart" Two shadows drifted across the compact earth, like tigers stalking their prey they made no noise. A whisper of wind flew through hair and tunics, kissing sun bronzed skin and cooling flame bent iron. The Masterdragon had removed his baldric and sheath back at camp; now he wondered whether... Tyrien led his horse silently to the edge of the field; staring at the ground as it passed beneath his feet, emotions churning in his stomach as he stepped wearily through blood and upturned soil. And this tree was called the... More..

Excerpt From: "The Snake Heart" The water billowed softly under the wind's touch, as though it were liquid silk. Words trickled over stones and cut a channel through the valley, a gleaming jagged channel that shone brighter than quicksilver in the moon light or molten copper in the early morning sun. A Velvet Dawn A train's mournful cries chant through the trees; disturbing the stillness of the dark as it heaves electric sighs. The haunting quiet of a velvet dawn is heard by the ancient elms, the creeping solar glow ever watched by crystalline eyes. Yet still, an ebony shroud drifts across the silvered clover and m...
