I am an Australian woman married to a fantastic American man and living in South Australia. I have 'scribbled' all my life and I am also a widely collected Artist specialising in Acrylics. I even combine my writing and painting as I love to illustrate my poetry. I write about my life and my country, drawing from my rural childhood and my years in the USA and everything in between to give my writing the realism and tenderness that I try to evoke in all that I do. I loved to read from the moment I found the Australian bush poet A.B. ' Banjo' Patterson. His love of country people and Australian flora and fauna is evident in every line he wrote. His empathy for their often harsh lives touched my soul and lit a literary spark in me that has never been extinguished. There is more information about me on my zone at http://www.helium.com/zone/2294-vivianne-ellis-art-for-art-sake and you can read more of my writing and even see some of my art from time to time. Take a look and leave me your opinions or ideas. Comment on my blog. I would love to hear from you.
My passion is ...
My husband, my children, my writing and my art, not necessarily in that order at any given time.
I know too much about ...
Too little. That's how I know that I am old. Only old people know that they know virtually nothing.
My parents always told me ...
Always wear clean underwear and carry a handkerchief. Or carry underwear and clean a handkerchief. I can never remember which...
My childhood ambition ...
To have a hammock where I could sit and read while eating grapes and chocolates.
My favorite memory ...
The rain beating down on the roof and the warmth of my husband's hand on my face as we dozed in the hazy half light of dusk. We both open sleepy eyes at the same time and smile at each other gently, not moving or speaking,...just being lost in the moment and totally in love.
Why I write ...
I write because I breathe. That is the only explaination I have.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. I read all three books and The Hobbit at least twice a year. And I always have my book of Poe with me so I can devour a poem or a story at will..
My first job ...
Working in a bakery. That's where I picked up my phobia of cleaning glass doors I think. Door after door after door....
My best moment ...
Anytime I sell a piece of art or a story and if I can make someone I love smile.
My inspiration ...
My life and the people and things that I love are the only inspirations I need or want. And kindness.
I know someone is going to write an article here called "How to get the girl in 3 easy steps". It's just not that easy. There are a lot of factors involved. Like, what kind of girl am I looking for? What will work with one girl certainly will not work with all girls. For instance, bringing her flowers is an age old tradition. What if she is allergic to flowers? And you can never go wrong with chocolates. Or can you? Is she into movies or is she a nature girl? Finding a girl perfect for you is not impossible but it is difficult. Guys who are confident are not the guys who will be reading th...
