About me - Tania Mcloughlin

About me

I have always had moments in my life when I wrote, for pleasure, healing, and answers. Often now though, I find myself wanting to share. At some point I might share some poetry I wrote in my school and younger days, but at the moment everything is new, inspired by my Doula studies, life as a stay at home Mum, or some titles have jumped out and inspired me to write. I hope you enjoy reading as I do writing.

In anything I write I endeavour not to offend or insult, but share my opinion only, what you do with it is up to you. I hope anything I share is taken with good intention and best wishes.

Briefly me

My passion is ...

Birthing babies gently -

I know too much about ...

nothing - there is and always will be more to learn about each and every aspect of everything!

My parents always told me ...

i had the.."if you dont eat you dont... ...you die" one- but how about this instead... If you can't open it yourself you don't deserve to eat it! This was refering to our local Coffin Bay oysters, Southern Ocean Rock Lobster, sand and blue swimmer crabs - and all the best seafood we had at our findertips!

My childhood ambition ...

cop, firie, nurse, anything helping people.

My favorite memory ...

for someone who has a poor memory, I have many! most include the beach, a boat, salt air, or the bush.

Why I write ...

self understanding and pleasure, it's a pleasure if you enjoy reading it too!

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

I read a lot about childbirth, the house is silent when wiggles, Barney, or Night Garden isnt' on!

My first job ...

Pumping petrol at a camping store. then the seafood industry hit me, packing cray to China and tuna to Japan in their respective seasons and some oyster lease work in the middle!

My best moment ...

probably when I realised I could enjoy breastfeeding and bonding with my daughter after feeling guilty about a not so nice birth

My inspiration ...

All our ancient mothers who birthed peacefully in nature.

Parenting & Pregnancy > Child Development Issues Should children be exposed to people with special needs?

"Should children be exposed to people with brown hair?" If you had brown hair and the title question was that, would you already feel discriminated against? Simply because a question was asked which could relate to you and your suitability to be associated with children you have been put into a category, a 'box' and a stereotype. Perhaps more suitably the questions within your family and friends could be asked;  - is my child associating with others from all walks of life? Not only those who are clean, well spoken, have a home, eat similarly, or don't need to use mobility aids.  ...
