Helium is a great place to write. I have become a better writer while learning from others. I am the Root Channel Manager for Parenting and Pregnancy. I know a little about Grandparenting and Adoption. We have one grandchild but our circumstances are slightly different as we adopted him. It adds a whole new dimension to being a grandparent.
Many of my articles are on camping. Having camped all my life, from tents to vintage trailers, I have extensive experience. Camping is the best way to discover America from the National Parks to all of the small towns in between. We have seen most of the states except the south so that is our next destination. We travel in vintage trailers.
Our grandson is 10-yrs-old. Most of my travel is currently to the baseball field. This year we have decided to homeschool and I will miss the volunteering in the classroom. Working with children who need extra attention is so much fun. When you help them grasp a concept that has eluded them, their joy is contagious.
There is never a lack of writing material. No longer dealing with school volunteering, fund-raising and bullying there are new topics to learn and research. Each situation provides more topics and insight. As our grandchild gets older, I can see an endless list of things to write about. We are also on the board of our local ASA Softball and PONY league baseball. Let me clearly state that all the bad press about baseball parents is true. They are every bit as bad as they've been portrayed. It is not a myth.
I also write on Squidoo and dabble on Triond under the name of Anneliese. I have a few Hub pages and play with Wikinut as Wordstock but found my voice on Helium. I am here to answer any questions you may have. If I don't know the answer, I can certainly find out. Please feel free to contact me.

The field across the street has become the new favorite place for recreational ballooning. This has become a teachable moment for our child and friends who sleep over. When it is 36 degrees Fahrenheit outside, teaching them how hot air rises is more graphic. We constructed a hot air balloon once. It is a wonderful science project but monitor it carefully. The very first step is to insure the balloon is tethered. Do not allow the project to proceed without some way to insure that it will not go up more than a few feet. The best bag for the balloon itself is a dry cleaning garment bag. It is...
