When I was young we had a cat named Calico, we were moving to another Country (New Zealand) for a year, so gave her to what most people think is an ideal home for cats... a farm. When we returned we learned that Calico had been beaten up by the farm cats, she was alive, but obviously farm life was not as wonderful as we had imagined it would be. Later my views of how animals in the pet industry were treated was also shattered when I worked at a pet store. I have since learned more about proper care of pets, and went to College to study horses.
I grew up in the city and knew that it was not for me, after the death of my first husband and later remarrying, I have moved to the country where I can assure you our cats (all spayed and neutered) have good lives. Among some of our more unusual pets, we have hair sheep.
I am inspired to write because I want to share my knowledge and information.
