My schooling over the years has been a diverse road culminating in receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship and advanced classes in Business and Information Systems Management. During my time in school, I was also working full-time in the retail industry - sales, supervisory capacity, and loss prevention. I continued working in retail loss prevention until my husband took a job that included a lot of travel.
I quit traditional work and took up freelance work in photography and writing. This fulfilled my craving desire for creativity. I won contests to get my photos published in several anthologies. Though I have had poetry and articles published prior to joining Helium, I was never given so much choice in subject matter as I have here. My writing, which had been on a many year block, began to flourish again. I also realized that there were no penalties for not being able to write full-time.
I am now working for Absolutely Unique, L.L.C. as a Computer Specialist, including web design and maintenance, and as a Secondary Jewelry Designer. This has added another level of satisfaction to my already brimming creative instincts. I enjoy these new opportunities, and they take much of my time. Yet, I don't think I'll ever give up my love for writing and photography.
