I am a 46 year old mother of two who was born in England, grew up in Africa, lived in Canada for 19 years then moved back t the UK. I am hapily married and am currently working in the healthcare system in the area of nutrition and the elderly. I love reading, writing and learning new things. I have written articles for various websites and publications, mainly on the topic of travel. I ama lso very interested in health and wellness, natural remedies and the subject of Asperger's and Autism among other sunjects. I enjoy a good debate and enjoy looking at both sides of a story!

Having worked in a guest house and restaurant in a tourist area of British Columbia, I can definitely advocate for the importance of receiving tips in addition to minimum wage. Although the restaurant was very busy from June until September with the summer and golf tourism, and from December until March with the skiers, those months in between could be very quiet with maybe only two tables a night midweek.
