I grew up in southern Maryland with tobacco fields on one side and the bay on the other. Small town living. Loved to crab, fish, and cause havok where I could.
I joined the Navy at 19 and began to travel the world. Visiting many countries around the world and being exposed to different cultures forever changed my viewpoint and thought process. I even managed to learn a little about electronics on the way.
Now I live in Kansas with my wife and son enjoying the slower country living. To me, being able to contribute articles to helium is a stress reliever whether its debating a point, or helping others with my electronics experience.

With gas prices rising again, and along with them, food prices, everyone is looking for ways to save some money at the grocery store. Then it dawned on me. Why shouldn't I build my own home garden. I could then grow what I want. Not only could I grow my own vegetables, but I can be assured that my family is not getting pesticides and chemicals from large farms.
