About me - Michelle Peters

About me

I am a business and leadership coach. I am also finishing up my Masters in philosophy. My educational background is in political science, economics and history. I worked in commercial property management for years and was the only woman and youngest member in upper management.

Under the category of fun, I would include the following:

I love to write, think and analyze. I like to analyze what I write and think as well in hopes that I continue to better my abilities in these areas.

I love music (all kinds), but have a love for the classical and romantic periods, opera, folk and blue grass. Ear candy for me are the local pop radio stations. No, I am not a music snob anymore. If it makes me want to move or brings a smile to my face, that's cool. I am chagrined, though, by the image crazed world of music these days. Where is the real artistry?

Art (especially modern, these days)and fashion thrill me when I need visual stimulation and a creative jolt.

Cooking is a passion and I try to keep it real, flavorful, yet simple. It's a way to express care towards those who enrich my life and make it better by being there.

Creative Writing > Reflections Reflections: Workplace humor

"The human race has one really effective weapon, and that is laughter." Mark Twain Mark Twain makes an interesting point. Humor and laughter always diffuse tense situations. I should know. While we were growing up, my brother perfected his skills of applying humor to ameliorate on an oft annoyed older sister and chagrined parents. It is a skill he uses to this day at work and in relationships to bring perspective to all parties. Humor and laughter are great ways to deal with difficult people and situations at work and to connect with your staff while still maintaining your role as leader. ...
