I grew up in the small college town of Cookeville, Tennessee: home of Tennessee Tech University. I lived in Cookeville from the third grade until I graduated from TTU in 1985.
I have been writing poems and short stories for as long as I can remember. I wrote my first "book" when I was eight years old. It was called Book of Halloween, and was written by hand in a spiral notebook. The book consisted of short stories and poems about Halloween.
Since then I have written many poems and short stories. I currently have one poem published in the book Rainbow's End, 5 poems published in the book Heart Rhythms and have won numerous poetry awards throughout the years. I have recently finished co-writing a romance novel: Emergency Care, with *Martin Yates.
I currently live in southern Alabama near the Gulf Coast in the city of Mobile. I have lived in various places prior to living here, but Tennessee will always be my home and I will definitely settle back there again as soon as it is possible.
I lived in Pascagoula, Mississippi from 1992-2002. While there I was a member of Mississippi Poetry Society (MPS), South Branch; a division of the National Federation of State Poetry Societies (NFSPS). While a member of MPS I served as President of our local branch from 1999-2001. During my presidency I organized a three day state meeting involving the three state branches, and I was interviewed by the local public radio station about the poetry contest MPS sponsors every year.
I lived in Chattanooga, Tennessee from 2002-2006. While in Chattanooga I was a member of the Chattanooga Writer's Guild and their splinter group of Poetry writers. Prior to moving I was a charter member of the newly organized Chattanooga Children's Writers group.
I am currently a member of the Mobile Writers Guild in Mobile, AL.
