My name is Lindsay Clark, and I enjoy getting trapped on mountaintops thanks to a multitude of causes: blizzards, rising waters, jaguars, and the like.
I am a recent graduate of Indiana University with a double degree in Studio Art and Art History. Thus far in my life, I have been lucky enough to circumnavigate the world not just once but twice, the second time on an independent trip.
After exploring four continents via Semester at Sea, a global study abroad program aboard a floating campus called the MV Explorer, I continued my explorations by myself to include 24 more countries and a better idea of the world around me. At the age of 23, I have hit 40 countries, and I look forward to the day when I can fully realize the magnitude of my luck and experience.
Not only do I enjoy using words, but I am a well-educated and experienced photographer who concentrates on natural beauty and documenting the ways of this Earth's people.
After innumerable priceless experiences from globe-trotting, I decided it was very important to me to share those with my personal community at home and eventually expand my influence in an outward fashion.
Having already been published twice, once electronically for a study abroad magazine and another in a print newsletter when my blog was recognized by a searching editor, I hope to continue my writing career by exploring the prospects of online and print magazines as well as compiling a work of my own experiences in book form within two years.
In addition to all those ambitions, my passion for Italy has now landed me a Helium sub-steward position, so feel free to contact me for help and advice on any Italian travel writing needs!
Americans, and especially my demographic (with an accent on the ladies), are afraid of the world beyond Barcelona and Sydney. There are few things more thrilling in this life than traveling alone to a developing country, and I hope to get some minds going on the idea of daring and unconventional travel.
Get out there countrymen; the world ain't that scary.

A budget nomadic existence is a tough lifestyle to sustain for long periods of time, which is why the frugal mentality must be acquired in order to guarantee survival on a journey. Given, being a traveler, even to low-cost, developing locales, isn't all that money-smart in the basic sense, but if you're at all like me, you have no choice but to satiate your desires to be on the move. For this reason, it is essential to learn how to haggle. For most Westerners (or maybe it's just us, America), the practice is lost on us. Fixed prices and non-confrontation make our shopping experiences easy-...
