: About Me

I am a 42 (yikes) year old wife and mother, born and raised in Michigan. I have been married nearly 20 years - to the same man. My son is 5 and started kindergarten this year. It took me nearly 10 years to have a child and I will be forever grateful to modern science (and a wonderful doctor in Vegas) for making it possible.

By profession I am a legal secretary for a small firm that, while we handle most forms of law, we specialize in sports talent management. This makes watching sports with my husband all the more exciting.

I have always enjoyed writing and look forward to building some skills here at Helium.

The fact that this is even being debated here is unbelievable to me. How many times do people have to be told that tanning beds are just as bad, if not worse, than sun exposure? Harmful UV rays cause skin cancer, period. I admit that in my younger years I feel prey to the notion that going to the tanning bed gave me a "base" that would enable me to spend more time in the sun. I don't know who started this urban myth but I bet they own a tanning salon.
