About me - JJ Rusch

About me

Media wise, (no pun intended), I am a publisher, editor, columnist, cook book author, copy writer, on cam veteran of numerous consumer food/health television segments and appearances and highly interested in working more video programming and production.

I have had the pleasure of working with CEO's, national TV personalities, authors, celebs and a plethora of professionals across a wide array of industry and business. As publisher of Chicago Wellness Magazine and Wellness Weekly, my goal is to serve mainstream consumers with information and inspiration for finding what works in their lives. Speaking TO people is paramount to me.

Previous to my media tenure, I worked sales and consulting positions in the arts, real estate, health, insurance and tax industries. Part of my work during these years took me to numerous Fortune 100 corporate headquarters across the country. These business trips provided a fascinating peek inside the professional and social mechanics of the American white and blue collar cultures.

I am also a wife, mom and proud member of the sandwich and boomer generations. I believe great writers, when assignments allow, have no choice but to take pen to paper with their passion and experience close at hand.

Marriage and motherhood are of course, some of my most memorable experiences. Seeing my name in print for the first time, being on national TV and performing in Carnegie Hall were equally amazing and gratifying.

Education is an ongoing process at any age. I am a college grad with a BA in accounting, a minor in music, and am an accomplished vocalist and total percussionist with decades of training and performance experience. For the last ten years+, I have been a loyal student of self-improvement and all the motivational greats. One of my favorite motivational reminders comes from Zig Ziglar: It must happen in your mind before it will happen in your life.

Life is such an amazing journey and I am so very gratefully humbled by the wealth of phenomenal life experiences I've had. I look forward to all things ahead.

"I think we should fire every elected offical and start from scratch" - Chicago network Facebook post, 3-21-09. That pretty much sums it up doesn't it? In fairness to Quinn, Illinois' predicament is the result of years of bad management which cannot withstand the current economical downturn. Our new Gov by default is simply reacting to an inherited problem. Just like Stroger's kid did when he hiked the Cook County sales tax last year into a new tax-o-sphere. Many shoppers have become extremely skilled at buying things online free of shipping and sales tax since. Will they ever learn? That'...
