I suppose there really isn't much to say. I was raised in the South, but currently live in New England. I have five fantastic children, and one positively gorgeous grandson who is expecting a little brother or sister this summer. I'm married to the love of my life, and I still have no clue how he puts up with me. I've always had an interest in writing, but I am my worst critic and became quite adept at talking myself out of giving myself a chance. I'm hoping to change that.
When a child is first diagnosed with autism, it can feel as though the entire family has been thrust into some bizarre, different world. Some parents immediately begin the grieving process, even to the point of imagining their adult child in an institution setting. Others focus on what they can do to "fix it".
