My name is Kristine; I recently became a Great Grandmother. The baby boy was born three months early; he is struggling to breathe on his own. He was care lifted from the hospital he was born in to another hospital that can better care for his needs. I do not live in the same state as he so my daughter, that lives there, has sent us, my husband and me, pictures of Brian in his incubator. He is so tiny! He was 15 inches long and weighed 2 pounds and 13 ounces at birth. He was born on Saturday January 31, 2009. He sure could use a prayer or two. Thanks.
My husband of 42 years and I have four grown children and ten grandchildren, which descend from only three of our children. The oldest grandchild is 20 years old. He is the father of our great grandson.
I'm fairly new at Helium. I want to get busy and enter more written work. I've entered two articles that I've written since I joined. I would like to try my hand at poetry. I have written one poem. I need to enter it. I have written a few short stories, for children, in the past. I have them on a floppy disk, which I need to transfer unto a CD so I can put them on my laptop. My laptop doesn't have a floppy disk drive. I might even venture writing a novel. Writing is something I enjoy and it's pretty easy for me. I find I have a good imaginative mind. I exercise it whenever time permits.
I love to read. I like reading fiction stories, like romance novels and a good mystery once in a while. I also like to read documentaries, autobiographies, biographies, and animal stories. I do not care for the horror or terror type stories.
I hope to soon meet and read other writers in the Helium community. I look forward to writing for contests and the marketplace. I wrote one article for the marketplace, which was a challenge. I didn't do so hot. I will probably try again, sometime.
I also love to do art work. I draw with a charcoal pencil and I also oil paint. I do not do people. Panorama is my expertise. As a teen my mother taught me to work with pastels. My mother, sister and one of my daughters are artists, too. I took one class in oil painting from a good friend in her home. I knew nothing about oils before I took her class. I also enjoy scrapbooking. I have made a couple of scrapbooks for my youngest grandchildren. I am about to embark upon another.
