Throughout my life - even before I entered the work force - I have sensed a need to write. As a child, I wrote "children's books". As a teenager and college student, I wrote and edited for the yearbook. As a career professional, I have written press releases, website pages, white pages, marketing materials, and much more. I will continue to write, because the one thing that I now know to be true is that finding my voice, and putting it "out there", always pushes me to put my best self forward.

Even as I sit to write this, there is yet another well known athlete in the news who was arrested for driving under the influence and killing a pedestrian as a result. This is the perfect setting for this topic, as my four year old is sitting by his Dad and watching this with him on Sports Center. I wait with anticipation to see what my son is going to say; or ask.
