I have been passionate about writing since I can remember. I started writing stories and presenting them at show and tell in first grade. I thought that I wanted to teach writing in high school until a placement during my sophomore year of college made me realize that I wanted to write papers instead of grade them.
I didn't know what I wanted to do, but I knew I wanted to write. It wasn't until my junior year of college that I found my calling: Journalism.
After two internships at a lifestyle magazine and legal newspaper in Philadelphia, I became absolutely sure that journalism was what I was meant to do. I also love creative writing and hope to publish a book of poetry sometime in my life.
I am currently working as an AmeriCorps member, creating and implementing a mentoring program for college students. However, I refuse to give up on my dream of becoming a writer. I stumbled upon helium by mad luck, but am so happy that I have. It has been a wonderful opportunity to practice my writing, find freelance work and share my passion with others.
