About me - Michael Mallows

About me

I am an author, a life-coach, a Healer, a management consultant. I also lecture and run workshops on personal evolution, effective communication, professional development and various aspects of adoption.

I also run a series of workshops on creating convicning characters for script-writers, novelists, drama teachers and actors, and other people who create fictional characters, helping them to improve the structure of their stories, the cohesion of their plots and the robustness of their characters so thay are more believable and more appealing.

I've been a Mentoring Consultant to the London Festival of Theatre (LIFT), helped adapt What My Eyes Have Seen, a Swedish play by Annabelle Rice, which had a good run at The New End Theatre in Hampstead, London.

For a while, I was consultant editor on the Nurturing Potential Journal, have had a collection of articles collated in the self-published book 'The Power to Use NLP', and am co-author of Peace of Mind is a Piece of Cake (which is translated into Russian and Chinese), and am currently working on my third book - Clean and Crafty Listening.
A number of my poems have been published and my lyrics recorded. When I get a round tuit, I will will post some on Helium.

I love puns, acronyms and most forms of word-play!
My spelling is UK English.

I am also an adoption expert, working mostly with professionals, but also running workshops on self-esteem for adopted adults, communicating with adopted children for adoptive parents, and helping people who are searching for biological relatives or who have had a reunion that is not going as they would have wished.

I trained as a Transactional Analyst many moons ago, am deeply involved with Neuro Linguistic Programming, study the Enneagram and, despite being agnostic, A Course in Miracles. Those and various other typologies and models of human behaviour, are all topics I write about or lecture on, and which inform my Creating Convincing Characters events.

THE LIGHT YOU THREW More than just my love for you Or your great love for me I loved you for the light you threw Which always helped me see More than just the words we said Or silences we shared I loved you for the light you shed And all the things we dared More than just the silent hours When smiles spoke more than words When every moment lived was ours And things unsaid were heard I loved you for your gentleness Your quiet strength and warm sweet smile How firm your touch of tenderness Before that painful, sad exile How could I be reconciled to distance, loving from afar?
