"Choices" I was sixteen when daddy died. His bad decision left us alone to cry. The loneliness smothered the air. Mama felt this life was unfair. My brother was lost and full of fear. I hid away all my pain and tears. Mama wanted her sorrow to fade. She popped her pills with her wine and covered the pain. My brother would stay awake all night.
