About me

So - what can one say about ones self without giving away far too much or bragging. Its a difficult balance to try and remain mysterious but not aloof.
To start simply I'll tell you my name - its Claire. When my parents named me, they named me Claire a fairly under-used name. Well that is what they attempted to do. Instead they gave me the most popular name in my year group (a tenth of the girls in my year are named Claire/Clare) and only succeeded in spelling it awkwardely and differently from all the other Clares in my year so that my name is constantly spelt wrong. Joy.
Asides from my unfortunate naming, I've also been unfortunately born - I'm the youngest in my year and have been named by teachers and peers alike: Bambina. C'est super!
However, asides from my parents unfortunate clumsiness they have also instilled in me a deap desire to read and write. From a young age I wrote stories (my first at aged 4. It contained the nine words I knew several times over) and I've been reading basic words since I was only two.
From my mother I have also found a love for playing musical instruments. I play fluently (for I believe music to be simply yet another language in this world) the flute, piano and guitar and am also a singer.
From my father I have acquired my taste in music to listen to. Most notable favourites: The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, The Shins, Paul McCartney, Eels and many, many others. Basically I love rock in most forms.
My other loves are elephants and Africa - an adoration I plan to explore further in a three month backpacking trip through the East and South of Africa with one of my good friends after we finish school.
There is a lot more to me but right now there's not much to say that I consider imprtant and I've rambled enough so - au revoir, ciao, arivderci and goodbye.

There are some places on earth I consider to be a part of my own world. They're mine and I've claimed them as such. There is my bedroom - an obvious choice some might say but, I don't agree.
The place I claim as my own though, is a purple velvet armchair just below a huge reading lamp on the split floor level of Edinburgh's Starbucks inside Waterstones. My heaven on earth. Could any place or other restaurant offer more satisfaction than the ability to buy a book then sit reading it in one of the coziest and comfiest chairs ever made, whilst drinking a vanilla cream frappacino and eating a ...
