I've worked in the information technology field for more than 30 years. I started on computers that used punch cards for input and ended up as a Duty Manager for IBM resolving critical business outages. I learned about business from my father who was the co-chairman of President Jimmy Carter's government re-organization comittee, and from my own observations.
I was born in Washington DC. and grew up in the suburbs of Chicago with my eleven brothers and sisters. My favorite activity is participating in the KBCO Kinetic Sculpture Challenge. My favorite topic of discussion is how businesses can improve by improving the skills of their managers.
I write under the name of Mr. Tiny Brain because of the perception that many people have of their managers. The idea is that only someone with a very small brain could understand why managers do the stupid things they do. I have a papillion that weighs about 6 pounds. I call him Mr. Tiny Brain and I intend to use him as an avatar to help express my ideas to others.

I once got in the car with my wife and a weeks worth of luggage and asked her "Which direction do you want to go?" She was amazed. She had expected me to completely plan our vacation and the idea that we didn't have reservations anywhere shocked her. I decided to go south west. As I drove slowly into the sunset I tried to explain my reasoning. I said that without reservations we could go anywhere we felt like. There was no stress on us to be anywhere at any time.
