: About Me

I am a 48 year old woman who recently married a wonderful man. The only drawback is that I had to leave my home in Texas and move to North Carolina. It was very hard at first but now I am getting used to it and I am very comfortable in my new house. We got married June 30,2008, so you could call us newlyweds but I feel as if I have known him all my life. It is my third marriage and I truly believe third time is a charm.

I am medically retired from the postal service in San Antonio, Texas.  I was injured on the job and I was unable to perform my duties any longer due to a back injury. I had worked at the Post Office 22 years before I officially retired. Believe me I do not miss that job at all. After all the saying they use "Going Postal" is actually very true.

Now that I live in Fayetteville, North Carolina I must find something to do to fill up my day so as not to have time to think about family back in Texas. I spend my time cleaning the house, reading different types of books, redecorating my new home, making crafts, walking around the neighborhood and I like to do a little writing. My writing is a bit abstract just as you would call a painting abstract. It's a bit strange. Many friends have told me I should write children's books but I have never gotten around to even trying to write children's books. I would like to try to write some type of children's book but I have never gotten around to taking their advice seriously.

Other than working around the house I play with my cat, Josie. She is somewhat like a child to me. We talk to each other during the day since it is just her and me. Most of the time she loves to sit in the chair by the window to get some rays of sun. I say she is somewhat like a child to me because I have two grown children. I have a daughter who is 26. She is married and has two kids therefore making me a grandmother. I love the kids very much but I don't have a chance to bond to them as I would like due to the fact they live in Texas and here I am in North Carolina. I also have an eighteen year old son who seems to know everything or so he says. He is still a young man and I am not there to provide the knowledge he needs to face the world after he graduates from high school.  He currently lives with my parents and they are up in age now so it is very hard for them to raise an eighteen year old male. I wish so much I could be there to help him out. He did not want to move with me to North Carolina and I really can't blame him since he is a senior in high school and he has a girlfriend whom he is crazy about.

I am happy although I am away from home and that is due to my husband. He actually treats me like a queen and that is not a lie. I am not used to that but it sure it a nice change. I feel like I am sitting on a throne with a golden crown upon my head. My husband cares and loves me so much that he is trying to find a job in Texas. Of course there will be many things to take care of if he does obtain a job in Texas. I know that it will take years if it happens at all. I am prepared for both options. I am not a spring chicken any longer so I need to live my life and to be happy and do what I enjoy. I've done my job raising my children and now it's time to take care of Nelda. I am not being selfish but it's just time for me to take the time to do the things I enjoy and now I have someone in my life to share that with.

I find that making true friends can be very challenging especially in todays world. You must be very careful and make sure you know the background about this person.
