I grew up in Virginia Beach, VA but just recently moved to West Virginia, and my oh my, is that a change. From a city of half a million and metropolitan area in the millions, to a small town of roughly 4,000 people. I welcome the change, especially from flat land to rolling hills. I also became the proud new momma of a Golden Retriever mix puppy in January. Her name is Lindsey and she is truly the bright spot in any day.
Ever since I was little I have enjoyed writing. Any chance I get, I write. It doesn't matter if it is a grocery list, to-do list, blog, random thought...whatever. The satisfaction I get from it is sharing knowledge. As a person who loves to learn and read, I have a lot of fun telling other people what I know as well as reading what they know.
Reading...I have a LOT of books. Mostly historical fiction and football. Football is definitely what I know best. I believe that anybody who says they don't like football simply hasn't taken the time to learn the game.
My passion is ...
Learning about a lot of different subjects. I can never pick just one.
I know too much about ...
Professional football. I read a lot of books about the modern NFL and how we got there. I've found that 8 out of 10 people that claim they don't like football just don't understand it.
My parents always told me ...
That I should always do what I am passionate about.
My childhood ambition ...
In 2nd grade we went around the room saying what we wanted to be when we grew up. I said professional baseball player. Everybody laughed at me.
My favorite memory ...
Camping with my family in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Of course we do that quite often so the memories are numerous!
Why I write ...
Since I like to learn about a lot of things I have a lot of thoughts running through my head. I write them down to get them out and move on.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
I read a lot of historical fiction in addition to other non-fiction subjects. My favorite author is Philippa Gregory.
My first job ...
Working at a beachfront store in Virginia Beach.
My best moment ...
Auditioning for and being selected to a band/choir comprised of students from around the country to tour Europe and perform.
My inspiration ...
Having this one life and making the most of it. So in other words, trying to cram as much good stuff in as I can!
Every January we go through the same merry-go-round. College players have until the 15th to decide whether or not they will forego another season and take a crack at the NFL draft in April, or return for another year. Naturally, this is a decision not to be entered into lightly, for it has life changing capabilities. The most common case for exiting college early is injury. Exposing yourself to another season that could potentially end in a season ending surgery would be detrimental to a future career in the NFL. Injuries that leave a player out for a significant amount of time can drastic...
