I settled on this planet roughly ten years ago after a brief sojourn on Pluto, which, due to some interplanetary politics, has since then lost its title of 'planet.' This is of absolutely no consequence to me, except that of late, I have been the recipient of numerous letters from friends and acquaintances back home protesting the current state of affairs and urging me to rectify the situation. I have tried to explain to them that I am merely a peaceable citizen and have no direct influence in matters of state, or rather, planet, but to no avail. They insist that if this is the case, I must begin gathering influence at once so that I may restore the planet to its rightful place in textbooks and tourist brochures. In true Peter Wiggin style, I decided the best way to do this was to start writing, and so here I am. What else am I to do? They have my pet frog.

The meaning behind the Hanukkah menorah is far deeper than first meets the eye. On the surface, the menorah is lit to commemorate the miracle of the oil. The Jews had recaptured their temple from the Greeks after years of fighting, yet when it came time to light the menorah, they were only able to salvage enough purified oil to last for one day.
