About me - Elton Gahr

About me

I have known that I wanted to write for a living since I started High School and have spend the last decade attempting to do just that. At the same time I have struggled with moderate jobs and given up a lot to follow a dream.

A few months ago I got fed up and decided to take the leap. I knew that the odds were that i'd end up going back to work but I was unwilling to simply dabble any longer. I have been even more broke than usual since then spending most every day writing for sites like Helium and trying to improve my craft.

And this month I succeeded in my first goal. I have paid all of my bills with money earned by writing. I now feel comfortable calling myself a freelance writer for the first time. This doesn't change the fact that I am still fully broke and have to walk places because I can't afford to put gas in my Car but I'm still excited because I know for the first time that I can do this.

One of the things that I do not envy the card designers at magic the gathering is trying to come up with a new card for an old idea, epically those old card mechanics that must show up in every set of magic the gathering such as counter spells and creature removal.
