: About Me

I am a retired nurse living in a rural community of Kentucky. I have been married to my husband for twenty-two years and together we have three grown daughters, three teenage grandchildren, and a preschool grandchild.

My life is full of hobbies; sewing, reading and I just obtained my first pet poodle puppy when my niece died and I needed something to cry on. Pets are such wonderful companions for folks in the grieving process.

I sing, write songs and play guitar and piano. I love to listen to any kind of music, but I sing folk and country. Recently, a new gospel singing group has emerged of which I am a part consisting of my husband, my granddaughter, and my sister-in -the-faith. It's time now to change the picture on my page from the dead to the living. We call our group, Balm of Gilead.

I love to write. I write reviews of events in the community for a local on-line news magazine. I have written essays when I was in school and won rewards for some of those. Writing allows me to express myself. I journal regularly and regularly I read my journals because I have to tear out some of the pages sometimes. I vent through my journals and there are things I would not want others to read, so I take care of it. I play like I'm a politician, I shred the evidence.

I am blessed to come from a large family and still have living siblings, nieces, nephews and lots of friends. My closest friend is my husband and I believe I am his. My church family and my faith in God sustains me in this unstable world. I believe faith in God make us wiser and more able to cope with what we have been given to deal with in our world.
