About me - Elizabeth Mcgill

About me

I am a 43 year old mother of two, married, with one crazy dog. I'm a full time student, going for my associate degree in medical billing. I am a published writer on AC Associate Content, and have always written stories, poems, and prose. I love to write. I have to write.

I've held many titles in life, but the one title that I have always had high hopes to obtain, is holding the one of "author". I think back on the times in my life that I was encourage to continue writing, and thankful that I did so.

We all bear titles in this life. I'm happy with who I am, because of what I have been through. Writing gives me that opportunity to take those little road trips in life and turn them into more than just dead end streets.

"We all have a book inside of us.", the saying goes. We can either write it, or let it die. I chose to give my writing a chance to live on; long after I've left this old world.

Briefly me

My passion is ...

writing about life experiences.

I know too much about ...

horses, neurotic dogs, and rolling pennies.

My parents always told me ...

"If we lose you in the store, you know your way home, hum?"

My childhood ambition ...

To be lost in a store, preferably one that had horse stuff in.

My favorite memory ...

The day I realized my "coffee drinking buddy" Ray, would be my husband.

Why I write ...

I write because it fills me with a sense of comfort, gives me stability, and saves me from going to a psychiatrist.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

I'm listening to my dog crunch on his tattered bone, and the ticking of our old regulator.

My first job ...

An Electrolux Salesperson. Yes, there is a story behind that one.

My best moment ...

the first view of my grandson, and the feel of his tiny fingers holding on to mine.

My inspiration ...

Life's experiences.

My husband and I raced to the back door and were greeted with the sight of our youngest daughter standing up on a patio chair, yelling at Daniel, our male dachshund.  She had inadvertently laid her backpack on him while she bent down to tie her shoe, as he was sunning himself in his favorite spot on the porch. His irate reaction at being smothered by her backpack, terrified her, and between her screams and his snarling and barking, it sounded like she was being devoured by a ferocious lion. After thoroughly taking advantage...
