Writing drains me. It excites me too. Writing offers emotion and the highs and lows of life. Writing means tempting the muses, tricking them into giving up their secret selves in whispers. Writing is elating and embarrassing. Writing humbles the prideful as it squeezes the arrogant heart. Avoid writing at all costs, unless honesty and truth are your goals. Pass writing by unless you value insight, depth, reflection, and some amount of the flaying of the senses.
Writing is the breath of the stallion, unbridled after a midnight ride through a frightening place. Writing peels the skin in layers from the frame. Writing requires the willing baring of one's self without regard for the soul.
Write, then, do I, for myself and those who's souls desire depth and the joy of winged flight as well as the soundings of slaves measuring the lengths - the lengths from the beginning to the end.

It is the 48th anniversary of the assassination of President John F, Kennedy. The news media appears to have ignored the date. Television, newspapers, radio, are not reminding the public of this day of certain infamy. The front page -or even throughout the papers, no mention of Kennedy's assassination. Even the city desk of the Boston Globe seemed surprised when I called asking about the lack of coverage. Here is the rub. I don't really want to be reminded of that ugly day in 1963 when JFK was killed. I don't need to see the Zapruder film on my TV. I don't need to hear the words of Walter ...
