About me - Michael Wooldridge

About me

I am a recent college graduate with a strong interest in journalism and writing in general.I attended Colgate Univeristy, a small liberal arts college in central New York state, it was a surprisingly conservative place, although many of the student body claimed otherwise. I graduated with a degree in History, few job prospects, no direction, and a terrible economy looming. I spent the entire summer searching for a job, while temping at a publishing company. I am currently interning at a documentary film production company, and I like it a lot, and am looking to extend my stay or find similar work after this end, in late December.

I wrote throughout college, mostly academically, but also in several publications. I wrote once for the school newspaper, in the commentary section. I also wrote for a political journal on campus called the Colgate Voice. Finally, my favorite experience was writing for a newly started satirical newsletter that went out monthly to the Colgate community.

I am looking to keep my writing muscles in shape with this project, and perhaps find some opportunities to freelance. Obviously that will all depend on how other people feel about my writing though, so I have no expectations, and I am looking forward to the opportunity to contribute.
