I am a 33 year old mother of three. I live in a small town in Delaware. I began writing poetry when I was 13. My writing began as a form of therapy. I had endured years of abuse, and writing became a very useful tool in dealing with the pain that I had internalized. Since those days, my writing has evolved and changed over the years. I still write when painful situations burden me, but I am no longer limited to only expressing pain and darkness. I have blossomed now, and can express any thought, feeling or idea that strikes me. Every day, in every situation, there is an opportunity to learn something new, and in each of those opportunities, comes yet one more reason to write.

Many people will ask themselves those exact questions, and many will not. I suppose the answer lies deeper within ourselves, down where we define how we feel about ourselves. Each of our own answers to this question, I believe, will be in direct correlation to how we feel about ourselves. It is a well known fact, that people with low self-esteem allow others to treat them badly. If you feel you are worthy of respect, you will demand it...
