I am an aspiring journalist who will graduate from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism in 2013. My concentration is newspaper/online journalism. I am a managing editor, writer and photographer for North by Northwestern, NU's news Web site. I am double majoring in Spanish.
This winter I am interning for El Nuevo Día, a newspaper based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I will write and report in Spanish.
I worked for a drug prevention organization called Fundación Fénix in Nicaragua during the summer of 2011 where I honed my Spanish skills and dabbled in development work.
I have interned for The Record in northern Jersey, where I covered three small towns and took on larger enterprise stories.
I worked for Gannett (Home News Tribune and Courier News) in the scholastic sports department for over a year. I wrote summaries of games, took calls and wrote the occasional article. Also for the Home News Tribune, I have written news stories, reviews and opinion pieces for the Teen Scene section.
During summer 2009, I got some experience with broadcast journalism when I worked as a volunteer reporter for EBTV, East Brunswick's local television station.
In 2008, I attended the National High School Institute's Journalism Division at Northwestern University.
Throughout all of these experiences, photography has been a budding passion of mine.
Being admitted to a dream college is tough for any student. However, there are many ways to assess a student's chances of gaining acceptance into a particular school.
