Barbara McCutcheon began her career path in Drafting and Design, and added Geographical Information Systems (GIS) during the 90's. In addition she has worked in child care, housekeeping, and kitchens. She earned a BA in Organizational Management from Eastern College, hoping to transition from the technical level to design and management in GIS, but had to leave her career when her husband's company transferred him to another city. Since then she has worked temporary and short term jobs as an engineering and administrative assistant. In 2009 she began training for a career in Medical Billing and Coding, and hoped to have a job in that field when she completes her training during the fall of 2010.
Ms. McCutcheon became involved in the Civil Air Patrol in 2004, and has remained active in their Cadet Programs and Emergency Services programs. She has held Public Affairs Officer, Information Technology Officer and Deputy Commander for Cadets positions at different times. Although most of her Emergency Services activities are on hold due to pending neck surgery, she continues to provide Basic First Aid and CPR training to cadets and senior members.
Barbara earned her Lay Responder First Aid, CPR, and AED instructor's certificate from the American Red Cross in 2004 and has added instructor credentials for the Emergency Care and Safety Institute, ProCPR.org, and ProFirstAid.com to her list of authorizations.
