About me - Arcadia Hudson

About me

Right now I'm a college student going for computer engineering, but even though I'm into technology, I have a love for literature and writing. My hope is to write children's books one day (soon). Along with writing, I'm also an artist, so I enjoy writing stories that need illustrations. I won first place at the Deland festival of the Arts and third place in a competition at the local library. I also had a piece of art published in Cicada. The medium I use the most is graphite pencil. I do a painting once and a while, but pencil is my number one choice.

Still, writing is my first love, so it's my wish to integrate my writing with my art. I wrote my first novel length story when I was 14, and in high school I was on the newspaper staff. At this moment, my friends and I are putting together a literary magazine, just for fun, and I can't wait to see how that's going to turn out. For myself, I enjoy writing stories with unusual plots. If the plot isn't strange, I like to cast everyday things in a different light. My goal is to always improve. I used to take critism really hard, but the older I got I realized that it's good to hear the opinions of others, even if you don't like them. They can make you better. Or more determined to be better.

The question people ask me the most is why did I go to school for computers instead of writing or art. For one thing, I like working with computers. The second thing is: the pay checks come much more regularly. So writing right now is on the side, but I'm still trying to put my best work out there.

To start off, digital TV does not automatically mean high definition TV. They are two different things.
