Yorkshire pudding to me is the quintessential part of any Sunday lunch served in England. Although traditionally partnered with roast beef, many families now give it pride of place with any roast and lashings of gravy. The puddings origin is a little hazy. There is no definitive proof it was invented in Yorkshire, and the pudding was first named “dripping pudding” because it was cooked in a separate tray below the meat, thus soaking up the roasting juices.
