About me - Kindalikesorta

About me

efrain
( eh - frah - yeen ) approximate pronunciation, from Hebrew, meaning "Fruitful".

i don't really agree with these "About Me" boxes, because they are generally
not true. Psychologically, people describe themselves in ways that are not
true to real life.

Some people say "oh, i'm such a neat freak about everything!", but it's
not always true, because their rooms or cars are a mess. or people say,
i'm a very outdoorsy/camp person, but you've never seen them outside the
city. or they like to say things like "i'm very independent" or i'm "high
maintenance". but those people are also very needy and can't be alone in
their thoughts.

They'll quote the coolest men and women they think to be 'great', yet their
life reflects a philosophy of vain and shallow mismatch.

People, no matter how simple, ignorant, naive, intelligent, angry, shallow,
or whatever....are complex. We simply cannot be described easily in an "About
Me" box. We are walking contradictions, paradoxes, miracles, simultaneously
wise and foolish, at times meandering in the maze of mediocrity while striving
for the high plain of peace, good will, success and all that.

In a way, i believe people actually describe themselves as their version
of the Ideal Self. It's what we want ourselves to be, in the most consistent
way. So, even though I hate these About Me boxes, I can see the benefits.
it's a little blurb that allows the rest of the world a small peek into
our innermost desires, dreams, and goals for ourselves and character.

So with all that being said:
i'm a weak boy and a strong man. i am angry and i am nice. i am a punk and
a gent. i am an artist and a hack. i'm a nerd with a desire for the suave
and debonair. i am both genius and fool. i am lazy and ambitious. i am unsure
and determined. i am funny and boring. i am bitter and at peace. i laugh
at the supposed self-sufficient spoiled sillies, while at the same time
weep at the self-imposed frustrations of my own life. i accept the things
i cannot change while cursing them all along the way. i shake my fists at
God while clenching them in prayer for grace. i am hip hop and classic bach.
i am superman and i am stick man. i am a dirty rag at the feet of God, and
i am a prince in His court. i am talented and without skill. i am knowledgeable,
but know nothing. i love nature, but never stop to walk through it all.
i have privilege, but no luxury. i've fallen seven times, only to rise again
and move on. though the waves of life encompass my circle of vision, i will
move on.

i am all these things and more, and yes, perhaps even less.

i am efrain. hear me squeak.

Entertainment > Movie Reviews Movie reviews: The Transformers (2007)

Transformers? No Thanks. The Transformers were a line of toys that became popular in the early 1980's onward, spawning a cartoon series, comics, and feature-length animated film in 1986. Known for their super-cool ability to transform into machines resembling Earth vehicles, the Transformers are an emblem of childhood happiness for many teen and adult males today. My favorite Transformer was the almighty Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots (the good guys), who would transform into a red and blue semi-truck. Believe me, it was cool. When I remember the Transformers, I smile with a bit of ...
