I am first and foremost, a mother and a wife. Five years ago I would have never thought that I would identify myself in that way, but the last few years have taught me that family is above all else. I am very blessed. I have a beautiful daughter and another baby on the way and a supportive husband to help me balance it all. I have a BS in Mass Communications and have spent most of my time since college working for small to medium sized companies in their advertising departments. I am fascinated by all written forms of communication. I love the simplicity of messages that catch the attention of passerby's going 75 mph and the song lyrics that distract them. I enjoy an overly opinionated editorial as well as a well-informed how-to article. And I am especially fond of anything that makes me laugh out loud when I shouldn't. I love to write. I always have. Song lyrics, random thoughts, articles, you name it, I'll try my pen at it (or keyboard as it is these days).

The word "allow" made me smirk a little and encouraged my response to this question. As a parent, I feel that I only have about 18 years to allow my children to do anything. After that, you must trust that you instilled the right values and appreciation of life for your children to be successful and happy. Would I allow my 16 year old to marry someone of another race?
