About me - Ladybusker

About me

I am a singer/songwriter who started out as a dancing, singing baby, who tried to sing and dance before I could talk or walk!
Until now, songwriting has been my passion (and still is!)
As a teenager, I street busked as a four to six chord wonder, creating lyrics to my tunes on the spot, inspired by the people I met, and the sights that caught my eye, often via my peripheral vision! I made acquaintance with the night Ladies (who graciously allowed me to play music on their beats, in return for a coffee or a guitar lesson.) King's Cross, Sydney, and Rundle Mall, Adelaide, were my early artist 'stages.'
I graduated in Visual Arts from Monash University, Clayton, (in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia) and undertook a brief fling with editing at the local tech college, after my daughter was born.
There followed pieces of novel, many short stories, and with the busyness of living, I found songwriting to be the most immediate and rhythmic style!
You will find me on http://myspace.com/susanoshea with five of my earliest songs, along with artwork (also a passion), and also on http://triplejunearthed.com/susanoshea, where you'll see The Mum right there with all the boy bands! If you like what you hear on My Space, you are welcome to drop by and rate my work so that I may get myself out of the living room and the kitchen, along with my songs! On Helium, I will be including the Best of my early stories, as I feel that they deserve to do more than wilt away in a drawer! Along with excerpts from my novel in progress, All Dressed Up and No Planet To Stand On: (whatever happened to Generation BOOM-X?) and any topic that grabs The Passion!
I managed to get into Monash with A+ ratings in English Literature, Art, and English Expression (everything else was very average!)but I see this as not nearly as important as Real Life education.
I will add some song lyrics, if requested. All my work is copyrighted with APRA (Australian Performing Rights Association) and The Australian Songwriters' Association, along with APRA AMCOS.
I INVITE EVERYONE WHO IS INTERESTED ONTO MY PAGE, AS I AM NEW TO THIS SYSTEM AND HAVEN'T QUITE FIGURED OUT HOW TO INVITE YOU! SO FAR, I'VE ENJOYED YOUR WORKS - SO HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU SOON!

Melanie Safka.
Does anyone remember Melanie Safka?
I feel I date myself, but all I can say is that Melanie was the lady who taught me that the vibralto in my big, loud melodic voice was the essential part of me that needed to sing!
She was on Broadway, last I heard.
I first knew of her on the Woodstock Festival film - the dark, larger than life lady with the big fringe and the big smile, whose voice was not what you would call traditional, but a voice that obviously came from the heart, the soul and the spirit.
The 'Brand New pair of Roller Skates' lady, 'The Look What they've done to m...
