About me - Celine Araujo

About me

I'm a teenage writer who enjoys writing opinion pieces, and articles pertaining to fashion and beauty.

I wrote for a Kids' Newspaper run by the Toronto Star, "Brand New" Planet, and had 3 articles published in that newspaper, some of which can be found online:

* How Short is Too Short? (opinion piece on short skirts)

* Racism: Evil in a Six-Letter Word (opinion piece for Black History Month)

* What Not to Wear (opinion piece against school dress codes)

I also had another of my articles, "Don't Go Nuts on Halloween" published in the Toronto Star, in the Life Section. I wrote this article to bring awareness to the issue of kids with nut allergies (I have a peanut allergy) not being able to enjoy their Halloween candy, some of which contain nuts.

I continue to write, a past time that I love. I hope to make my love of writing not just a past time, but a career by becoming a journalist, novelist and/or movie/television writer.

I heard a voice, it spoke to me Out of the depths of misery A brief sweet comfort, a glimpse of hope When a better life seems too remote I lie almost lifeless on my bed My thoughts flash quickly through head This life I'm living feels like a prison I need a reason to keep living I contemplate suicide Would anyone mind it if I died? The small still voice inside me said, "Life is worth living, and you're not dead" But forging a new life seems so hard As I meld into the dark And I have no idea how to begin When all I know is despair and sin I'm praying and begging with desperation Trying to f...
