Writing has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. It's been my way of dealing with everything in life. From the beauty of a summer day to the sadness of a broken heart.Writing is what I have always turned to when it felt like I had no where else to turn.
I come by it honestly some might say.My mother use to write some of the most beautiful poems and stories.Even when they were about the pain she felt in life you could see a flow that many others work all their life to capture. When I was a teenager and then a young adult I would pull out the things she had written and then put away in her secret hiding place. For hours I would drink in the beauty of her words.Hoping one day I could be even half as good as her rough drafts in that forbidden cider chest we we not suppose to go into.
I got a little derailed for a while when I stepped into adulthood.I allowed life to get in the way of chasing the dream I held as a child. I kept telling myself that I would write more when I got older and time permitted. Now with wisdom and time I have realized that now is the time to chase after my dream. That writing is as much a part of me as life it's self. The truth is that in life there never is quite the right time and if I want to be able to be the published writer I have always dreamed of being then I need to get down to the business of writing. Its time I am true to myself and be the writer I was always meant to be.

I was looking to make a little extra cash in order to move out of my mother's house but ended up with so much more than money. Alice is what I had always been taught a true southern belle was suppose to be. She wasn't afraid to get her hands a little dirty. Many times when we were slammed with customers she would roll up her sleeves and help. Whether it was by washing dishes, helping to bus tables, or even taking a drink order or two.
