About me - Aimee Mendel

About me

I am a pushing 60 woman; I am a mother of two wonderful children, a registered nurse and a passionate home improvement bug. I like to write; perhaps I should be more disciplined but I am a student of Charlie Whited (Miami Herald) and Celestine Sibley (Atlanta Journal Constitution) both of whom caused everyday issues to become important by their excellent wordsmithing.

I love animals ( dogs and cats), crossword puzzles, gardening and being a rehab nurse. I worked in critical care for years and years; I finally decided that being a hero in the face of dwindling staffing was not for me. Now I use all my skills to help the most unfortunate among us regain a semblance of normal life.

I found this site by having googled an old nurse friend. I love the notion of developing my writing skills.

Have Dr. Spock or Joe Schmo, PhD met your child? Do they know you? Why does it seem so difficult for parents to get a feel for their children's personalities, strengths and weaknesses and preferences? Why don't parents trust their gut when it comes to paren...
