I am a 42 year old housewife and caretaker for my elderly Mother. My husband Keith is a service manager for a large construction equipment manufacturer. We have a beautiful 25 year old daughter that is a traveling surgical tech in a cardiac unit. Jenna is married and they have a furry four legged baby named Dixie.
I married Jenna's Daddy in a whirlwind romance when he came into the bar where I worked and said he was going to marry me. I told him he was crazy, but he persisted, 3 months later we were married. The rest is history, we have a wonderful life together and he is my best friend and closest confidante.
Since our child is on her own, we have a zooful of animals to keep us entertained and drained of all funds. Our oldest furry baby is a chow and shepard mix named Babygirl, and she is a big old BABY, hence her moniker. She is afraid of almost every inanimate object, especially the Christmas tree and metal bowls. She is also the peace keeper of the family which I will shortly explain the need for such.
That brings me to our Bassett Hound, Ellie May, she is the troublemaker and is she ever good at her job. Nothing is safe in her presence, most at risk are ballpoint pens. She loves them and will eat them and spead the ink everywhere. And now you see the reason we need a peace keeper.
We also have 3 cats. Mama Kitty who was dropped off in the night with a bevy of kittens. Someone knew a sucker for a cute kitty lived here. She had Rocky and Rambo and they stole my heart and are hard pressed to return it to me.
My Mama lives with us, my sweet hubby built her an apartment onto our house. She is a tough old girl, I hope to someday be just like her. She has had a myriad of health issues and still manages to find something funny in every day.

Why do I ride a motorcycle? How do you answer that question for someone who has never ridden a motorcycle? I am, after all, a woman. We aren't supposed to be able to handle such a contraption, right? If truth is known, I can't actually pilot one yet, but my husband Keith is building me a chopper that will fit my short stature, so in the meantime I ride with him. We just returned from a ride and as he was navigating the highway, I pondered this very question. I find myself acutely aware of my surroundings when we are on a weekend trip or even a short jaunt.
