About me - Claire Luna-Pinsker

About me

I'm 50 plus young, a writer, a mother of three, a wife, and a retired pediatric nurse. My mind still has the imagination, creativity and questioning nature, a young child has, something many adults lose. Call me, "Peter Pan." I love to write and listen to music, both are major parts of my life. I started writing in school when my spelling words were put in story form and read by my teacher's as a class reward. Having a difficult childhood, writing was an escape where I could soar into the clouds and be free, and it still is. I write about life and romance. Photography, capturing nature's scenery and wildlife, is also a love of mine. Sunsets are special and I can enjoy each one as if it's the first one I've ever seen. In fact many gifts of nature amaze me.
I love to talk, share ideas with people, and people watch. The antics of people fascinate me, so please share your tale of true romance, can't get enough. My kids say i have a face that says, "Please spill your guts." and people do.
I have a strong sense of humor, love to laugh.
Besides writing I deal with my youngest son diagnosed with a form of Autism, and humor helps me get over the rough hurdles we encounter.
I have numerous publications: Ebony Blood-my first romantic/horror novelette, Newsday, What's Love, Affaire De Coeur's first interracial romance, Our Journey, Manic Mom, Born, Half Hollow Hills Fiction Award, Interrace, Romantic Hearts, True Story, Poor Katy's Kab, Chicken Soup For The Caregivers Soul, Pocono Record, Eloquent Stories, Releasing Times, Bristol Square Magazines, MomWritersLitMag, Lyrica, Mansstory2 Magazine, Long Story Short, Voices of Autism, Women's Bloom, among others. I'm here to share, and also seek an agent to open doors to publishers for me.

Friend's Vow of Silence

You hear it all the time, another case of repressed memories resurface and another case of destructive, sexual child abuse joins the rising statistics. Dysfunctional African-American families join other races in this critical problem. But for some reason incest was accepted as a natural part of life in the African-American community. Somehow we don't go shouting our stories at recovery group meetings or with the media or write them in literary magazines and novels. We don't have our stories exposed on television or the movie screen, except in rare cases, such as i...
