About me - Adisyn Lee

About me

I have always loved to write poetry and stories and found that the best therapy was not found behind a door wearing a suit and tie, but rather behind the cover and between the margins. To write is the best form of self expression in my opinion. I love that while one can be the most awkward and bashful child in school, too afraid to speak, he or she can also have the strongest and most powerful voice on paper. I love that words can shape and mold the future through inspiring thought and action. While I hardly believe that my words and thoughts could make an impact on the world I hope that maybe they may inspire some as others inspire me.

Briefly me

My passion is ...

Nursing. To calm a scared loved one.... or hold a dying hand.... to be the person that another turns to in a time of illness and fear gives my life such meaning and satisfaction.

I know too much about ...

Foreign objects in body parts. Its scary really.

My parents always told me ...

I could accomplish anything that I set my mind to. It is a philosophy that I have applied to every aspect of my life and often apply even to the smallest tasks such as getting up in the morning.

My childhood ambition ...

To be a pediatric cardiologist. I instead decided to fight on the front lines and became an emergency nurse.

My favorite memory ...

The births of my children.

Why I write ...

I believe that writing is a wonderful outlet to express thoughts and feelings without the fear of rejection that one often thinks will come with spoken word. I believe the pen or keyboard is a powerful tool allowing those who wield it the power to change the world one word at a time. For me writing is a way to change my life one word at a time and in turn those of my family.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

Spongebob. The joys of parenthood.

My first job ...

McDonalds and surprisingly still my favorite place to eat.

My inspiration ...

My life. Generic I know but my life is so full. My children inspire me with their determination to fulfill a milestone. My patients inspire me as they remain strong through moments that weaken even me. I draw my inspiration from this.... from my life.

I can see it in their eyes, as they approach me in that way. Looking to find the right words, for a comforting thing to say. "Please dont ask", my eyes plead with them, but I know they long to know. Every moment devoted to keeping my strength. To say the words would let it go. My mind taken back to moments before you lying before me lifeless and blue. The only breaths that you took were the ones I gave to you. Dont ask me how I did it, how I did not lose control, how I managed to remain so calm, the truth is I just dont know. Can they see it when they look upon us? With you just lying ther...
