Lynnette Southwood was born in Denver Colorado and is the oldest of five children. She has two children, both living in Arvada, Colorado. She attended the Community College of Denver (CCD) and majored in English, with the goal of becoming a journalist. She worked at Lockheed Martin IMS in Denver for three years as an office manager, before marrying and becoming a full-time wife and mother. During this time, she volunteered for Colorado HealthNet, a Colorado nonprofit corporation formed to provide electronic access to factual and statistical information, support services, medical resources, and related health care information for persons with chronic medical conditions. She also volunteered for Jeffco Self Sufficiency, a non-profit organization for people trying to live without government aid.
In 2003, she and her then husband started, a property management company, and soon after, they bought an existing nail and skin care salon and ran it for a year before her husband was promoted to a district managers position in Scottsdale Arizona. The move to Arizona soon followed a divorce and a move to Las Vegas, NV where she pursued writing and sanity maintenance. Las Vegas proved that "There's no place like home." so she moved back to Colorado at the urging of her offspring.
She is currently the office manager at a commercial garage repair and installation company. She is serial dating and enjoying long abandoned hobbies such as, reading, writing, music, socializing, fitness (especially yoga) and strategic computer games.
