My name is Julia and I'm a stay at home mom of two beautiful children. I am married to a wonderful husband who puts his family first.
I decided to start writing to earn some money for our family, and so that my husband could quite his second job. When I was younger I kept a journal. I wrote so that I could look back to see what my life was like. I didn't want to forget anything. I also loved to write my dreams. Later I stopped writing in high school for several reason. I was not satisfied with how I wrote and what I was writing about. Also, I got in trouble several times because of what I wrote. Another reason was because I was becoming obessive comlusive about writing; I was tired of writing everyday. I rediscovered my love for writing from joining helium, so thank you helium. I love writing about God and my relationship with him, and I love writting about being a mom.
Some other important things about me is music. Growing up music resignated around me. My dad was a drummer, guitarist and pianist. He introduced me to the piano and singing at a young age. I did not keep up with piano lessons growing up, but I continued to play the piano regardless. Singing became my passion and I became deeply involved in choir and show choir in high school and college. It was in college I decided to get my BA in liberal arts so that I could teach. I had a hard time deciding whether to teach music or special needs. I was recruited as a personal assistant to two teenage twin sisters with special needs who were deeply involved in music; we were a perfect match. I was also recruited to teaching choir at an elementary school and then paino to many students, mostly homeschool students. When I became pregnant with my first child I decided to stay at home, but because we needed more money I would teach piano and bring my son with me. Now, that I have two little ones I decided that teaching paino needs to wait a while, and so here I am writing articles.

I first learned about teaching sign language for babies when I was a teenager. My brother was born with Downs Syndrome and he was in physically therapy and speech therapy to help with him with his development. The speech therapist used many activities and techniques to help him with his speech, one of them being sign language. My entire family learned sign language through his therapy and we could see how sign language was effective in helping his speech development. He was communicating to us using sign language and by speaking, and his pronunciation of words was clear. When I became a mo...
