About me

I am really enjoying the Helium experience...

Writing came more into focus recently when the TV analogue signal was switched off in the area of Scotland where I live. I decided to try life without TV. So far so good.

I first became aware of the power of writing at the age of 7yrs. I was surprised when a school essay turned out a high mark. It seemed that all I had to do was release my imagination and since I spent most of my time daydreaming anyway, writing and I became friends.

I am a practising psychotherapist, trained in the Core Process model which is based on awareness, presence and compassion. It integrates the Buddhist understanding of mind with Western psychological theories. Training in this model takes place in Devon, England and you can read more about the Core Process approach at the Karuna Institute website under My Links. I also have a part-time role in communications in local government which involves a fair amount of writing.

I haven't got a huge number of articles published yet...I can't imagine getting beyond 100 but hopefully one day. I can't even manage one article a week with my current workload so I am taking an 'as and when' approach. I still get a real buzz when an article does well. Happy writing!
